BROWNSVILLE — The floating breakwater at the Port of Brownsville eerily resembles a skeletal backbone, which is just what it’s become with the creation of Brownie the local sea serpent.
Local liveaboard port resident and artist Terryl Asla and daughter Colleen Asla-Dobbin, who lives up the street from the marina, thought the vertebrae-looking waterbreak has needed a head for the past three years.
After research and consideration, the two decided on a sea serpent, which is now affectionately named Brownie.
